  • Co-Founder / Director

Joel was sentenced to life without parole at age 17, but through education and self-development behind bars, he became a leader and advocate. Since his release, he’s worked in youth and adult transitional housing, program management, and criminal justice reform. Joel is committed to supporting young people in transforming their lives through mentorship and opportunity.

Rudy Reyes

  • At just 16 years old, he began a Life sentence in prison—an experience that would ultimately shape, not define, who he became. While incarcerated, he committed himself to transformation through education and self-help programs, discovering a powerful truth: he was meant to live a life of service, not harm. Guided by empathy and a deep desire to grow, he became a man dedicated to lifting others up.

Since his release, he has continued that mission, working with both youth and adults—particularly those impacted by incarceration—within transitional housing programs and community-based support services. He leads with compassion, always striving to create more reasons to be reasonable. His journey is a testament to redemption, resilience, and the power of service, which he brings to his work every day at RAMPLA.
